We had the Beat Feet for ALS Walk on September 26th this year. This was such a different year for me, with my dad not being there. But it was encouraging to see the people by who had been affected ALS, still coming after all these years. The walk was a great reminder that these people do not give up on finding a cure. I guess since it was the first time without my dad I realized that all the doctors, therapists, and volunteers who worked with us, knew that there probably wouldn’t be a cure in time for him but they chose to always go above and beyond and make us feel supported. I have a greater appreciation than ever for the people whose career takes them places where “success” is so hard to define.
