This weekend was a doozy. I feel like I have weekend-whiplash if that’s possible. We had my mother-in-law as our first real house guest in the Greenhouse and on Saturday the ALS Walk which I was photographing, my nephew’s super adorable first birthday, finishing up with the engagement of my best friend. Then on Sunday, we had our first family dinner at the house, the highlights of which for me were my nephew (not the one-year old one) looking at one of Texan and mine’s engagement pictures and asking how I took the photo if I wasn’t holding the camera. Ten minutes later my niece looked as one of the wedding pictures with my dad and said she liked it because “that man was funny.”

So if you don’t really care for photos in the house at least do it for four and six year olds. They love them.

And for Chelsea and Matt’s engagement! I am not typically one for behind the scenes but for this it’s necessary

Scoping out spots with Chelsea’s sister and mom. Finding a place where you can see them but they can’t see you is always harder than it looks.

We had to wait awhile for them so we watched this little turtle bopping the big turtle on the head. It was was adorable.

From my vantage point I couldn’t see them walk up. We had told Matt go to the gazebo and go to the right side. He wasted no time, as soon as Chelsea crossed the threshold, he was on his knee. I won’t embarrass him by telling the conversation.

I think it has to be one of the greatest feeling in the world to see people you care about so much be so happy. Also at this point I almost felt bad that we were going to walk in on their perfect, quiet moment.

But obviously I didn’t care enough to not force to immediately take pictures with Chelsea’s family and some random bikers watching.

My best friend is getting married! I am pretty sure this is better than getting married yourself because you see the excitement with people always asking about the colors. Saying I am pumped about this wedding is an understatement.
