Drew & Lena were the first wedding of 2018 for me, which means this was another outdoor wedding in winter. Not gonna lie I was pretty sure that there was no way I would get lucky with a second time in just over month where rain had been forecasted but not show up.

But the day was perfect, the rain held off almost perfectly until the bride and groom stepped into their reception and then slowed back down just in time for their sparkler leave. It was kinda nuts.

I’ve known Drew and his family since we were young and my family always gets their cars from his dad. Sometimes when you have know half of the bridal party for so long it can lead to a disconnect with the people you only meet for the wedding day but that wasn’t the case with Lena’s family and friends. Everyone was so excited about the coming together of a new family and the joy that it brought was evident.

One of my favorite parts was when a decision had been made to put off the prayer between Drew and Lena until after the ceremony and to “fake it,” for the photo. The normally laid back Drew wouldn’t have it and insisted he pray with his bride before they said “I do,” it was probably the sweetest moment of the day.
