I was a guest blogger. For a blog called “Waiting on Wildflowers.”
I was super pumped/nervous when she asked me to contribute because I never get complimented on my ways with words. But getting a chance to share my thoughts was beneficial and I’ve loved the feedback I have gotten for friends and family.

Following Cherie on WOW has prompted me to pick up my pen and pencils more. I sketch out my designs 99% of the time before I take them to Illustrator or Photoshop but seeing her hand letterings made me long for when I didn’t depend on Adobe. Thus, I made this purchase. I a very simple calligraphy pen.
And signed up for a local calligraphy class. I am nervous, I admit I have terrible handwriting but calligraphy is different because it is in many ways drawing, not writing.
In the meantime, I have been using my time off of school and new found interests to start with a clean slate for my own branding. I had been struggling to find the perfect font for Lumarie to be written in. I’ve tried probably hundreds and looked at thousands. I love a wide range of styles and weights so it was basically going nowhere.
I took a few days where all I did was practice my hand lettering and watch Audrey Hepburn movies because they go together well. A capital ‘M’ was becoming my favorite letter and I filled several pages with it.
This inspired by new masthead up there.
I am not sure where all this new hobbies will lead but I please to have been introduced by Cherie.
HERE is one the calligraphers I have been looking to for inspiration the past few weeks. Her work is completely lovely.
