I love the Masters tournament. I started working in the Golf Shops in high school and have been hooked ever since. I enjoy being a part of something that is this huge and means so much to the rest of the world. And of course, with my favorite color being green and week where Augusta is ALL ABOUT GREEN is right up my alley. I didn’t get to work this year because Lumarie has been much busier than I planned. I knew I was going to be sad not going to the course this year so when Tyler called me yesterday and asked if I could be ready in an hour and half… obviously I said yes 🙂 A highlight of this year was finally getting a new wristlet! I use them as wallets year round because it gives me the option to not carry at purse at times. I bought my first one in high school and needless to say it is disgusting now (TMI?) I have searched many outlets looking for a new one but to no avail… until yesterday, so here is to the next 7+ years little wristlet!
Tyler took some people images that I am going to save for him to edit, except for one; These flowers!
A very nice gallery guard offered to take this picture. I am very sun burned by this point. If you go, don’t be like me. Wear sunscreen
Other recommendations…
- the Georgia Peach Ice Cream Sandwich
- Unless you are a super-serious, hard-core golf fanatic don’t stress over finding/following people like Phil and Tiger. More likely than not you won’t be able to see well enough to make it worth it.
- Instead, buy a couple sandwiches and water bottles (food is cheap and delicious; bring $20 and you’ll dine better than most restaurants) and find yourself a good vantage point (preferably in the shade) to watch a couple golfers go by.
- Because of working the main golf shop I hadn’t been able to sit and enjoy the tournament in years. My favorite activity from this year was sitting a hill by hole 16 and watching the golfers go by especially since it being practice rounds they would attempted to skip the ball over the water
If you want a little more specific advice on what to wear and bring to the Masters, please read, my friend Jaclyn’s Blog. She is the queen of being prepared for anything.
All this golf reminded me of a school project from this past semester. I don’t think I will be adding golf box designer to resume but I do love this box with one of Tyler’s long exposures on it.
