Something I Am Really Glad We Did

After our rehearsal dinner, our wedding party went bowling. It was a tad random, some of the groomsmen had probably not pictured the night going  like that but it was definitely the best thing for us as about-to-be newlyweds.

Our original thought for coming with the plan was actually because of our wedding party. Texan and I have both been in weddings where we had this awesome time hanging out with the bride/groom but when it came time for the group pictures or walking down the aisle it just felt awkward if we didn’t know the person we were partnered with. Our hope bowling (or just some activity) would give our party the chance to hang out a little and get comfortable. We also had two potential matches in mind amongst our people.

Overall, people branched out a little, laughed at each others gutter balls, and had a decent time (no matches were successful). But I think the people who the night benefitted was Texan and I.

We spent months planning one day. It felt like forever but it went by so quickly, people keep asking if I was nervous and in my head I was like “No… Should I be? What am I forgetting that is allowing me to not be nervous? Okay, now I am nervous.”

Then we went bowling I sat with Texan and it was too loud to really talk but we watched two of our married friends get way too into their game and start talking the most adorable smack, a groomsman drank enough to where he felt the need to show us he could touch his toes over and over, there was awkward flirting, and we just sat and enjoyed the distractions provided by our wedding party.

So we planned this little event for our wedding party but it was actually us to benefitted the most. If you have a few hours to spare before your wedding day, I recommend making it a group activity.
