Surviving Summer Sessions

or just the summer.

I love hot weather. It’s been close to 100 degrees everyday. It is in the 90’s well before noon. But I am not complaining. I’ve even gone running around 4 in the afternoon just for an excuse to be in the humidity. But I still avoid shooting outside when it is this hot but some times you have to do it. So in desperate times you have to make the best of hot situations.

  • Water – Is this like the third post I’ve talked about water for session prep? You really need it during the summer
  • Coconut Oil – This is for the bugs. No one likes wants to have to act happy and in love while being eaten alive by bugs. That is a a form of torture. As someone who will get thirty bites on leg after just a few hours and with long pants, I have tried what feels like every kind of bug repellent. Coconut oil has worked the best. Put it on after a shower, let it soak in for for ten minutes the wipe it off if you don’t like the feel of it.
  • Updo – Typically I prefer most people with their hair down but to make comfort a priority put you hair is going to do wonders.
  • Light/Comfortable Clothing – Layers are more visually appealing but again your main goal is to comfortable. Misery will show in your photos, choose clothing that is breathable .
