We went to visit my friend Jaclyn and her husband a couple weekends ago in Chattanooga.
Jaclyn and I have been friends for years, probably at least 20. She was always the fashionable one who knew what was cool and in style before anyone. In sixth grade she came to church event with a short haircut and informed me it was like Reese Witherspoon’s in Sweet Home Alabama. I had no idea what either of those were and I think I thought Reese must be a boy.
Now Jaclyn is still constantly ahead of me in fashion and media. She has a jewelry line, Frazier Lynn that she created herself (I have found I have to clarify to people that she isn’t a part of an MLM, it is her own little company) and she has a podcast with our friend Jackie, Millenial Homemakers that I download and listen to as soon as it is released almost every time.
Much of this year I have definitely felt like a tourist. Probably because that is what I have been doing most of the time. This trip was a nice change because it felt much more like just getting to a know a city and what it offers to people to live there. Funnily enough the hiking and sight seeing is probably the last thing Jaclyn would ever choose to do but her husband was a professional road biker and native to Chattanooga so we got a glimpse into his pre-Jaclyn era 🙂
This is one of the longest pedestrian bridges and from it we spotted a dog and disc competition that we ended up watching for awhile.
We did an in home family with Jaclyn, Jordan, and their cute “Humble Herd”. It felt a lot like actually herding at several points but we got some of everyone looking!
And because the light was so pretty I had them get a shot of us, shorts and t-shirts and all. I would just to marvel at how I am smiling but my eyes are open and I have no idea how to recreate that smile!
