It Takes Two

I try to refrain from bragging on the Texan too much.

I joke that if people knew how great he was they would try to take him but I am actually only half joking.

In our year and few months of marriage we have developed habits and chores based on each of our strengths. He says he wants to teach me some of his but my argument is that me not being able to do these things ensures that I need him. He has not fully bought into this way of thought but it buys me time.

  • Makes coffee and tea. I don’t make these things because I honestly I don’t know how.
  • Takes care of the cast iron pots. Cast iron takes a few steps to keep in good condition. Nothing difficult but his willingness to do it makes all the differnce.
  • Gets me ice water.
  • Organizes my life. I will admit some times this backfires. I will have a seemlingly unorganized pile that I know all the contents of… and then I’ll go looking for something I know is there and he has organized it into folders, files, and binders. In the long run though it does pay off.
  • Organizes the kitchen. Tubberware and pot and pans are my best friends and worst enemies. He makes it so they don’t tumble out of cabinets and give me a concussion on a daily basis.
