Wolfe Family | Augusta

I have known the Wolfe’s for years now. I taught Amelia in Bible Drills when she was in 5th grade and then taught both her and her sister Amanda in the student ministry on Sundays. I always gave Amelia a hard time because she talked too much, never letting us stay on track and ultimately because she reminding me of me. And Amanda I thought was way more mature than I and probably deserved a better teacher. They were just another part of our church family that we have become so dependent on.

Finding our Mr. David had been diagnosed with ALS was a sad day for me. I called my mom and we reminisced and dug up memories I had put away. This is something I never wanted to have in common with someone. A few weeks later, I had the privilege of going to lunch with Amelia. I didn’t know what to expect from discussing the feelings I had in 2008 but after two hours, I left with only joy. In a potentially bleak situation Amelia manage to pull memories some of the best memories of my dad that had been buried, like the afternoon we painted his new wheelchair ramp zebra print just to bring a little cheer to it and the time he skate boarded for the first time at about 51 and broke his toe.

There is no doubt, the Wolfe’s have been handed a heavy load but they are clearly in it together.
